Source, county estimates & data notes
- Each non-header row counts once. Records are not deduplicated because the sheet has no student identifier. Chapter abbreviations, council assignments, majors, and member statuses follow the supplied workbook. Only populated roster records are included.
- State totals use Home State. County totals estimate the county from the first five digits of Home Zip, matched within the stated state using GeoNames postal data. ZIP codes can cross county boundaries, so these are not verified residential counties.
- Filters apply to the map, hover counts, area breakdowns, rankings, and CSV downloads. Selecting a state opens its counties and state breakdown; selecting a county shows that county’s breakdown. Summary cards describe the selected council, chapter, and member status across all locations. “Member” and “New Member” are separate categories from the source; “All statuses” includes both.
- Gray means zero matched records in the current filters. Unresolved locations remain in state and overall totals and are listed separately.

Add this map to an existing website
This is one self-contained HTML file, including the map, OFSL branding, fonts, and aggregate data. Upload the downloaded file to your web host and link to it or embed it in a page. No database or separate map service is required.
For example, if you upload it to /OFSL_Interactive_Map.html, add this to your page’s HTML:
<iframe src="/OFSL_Interactive_Map.html?embed=1" title="OFSL geographic map" style="width:100%; height:1200px; border:0;" loading="lazy"> </iframe>
?embed=1 hides the standalone university banner, breadcrumb, footer, and this guide so the map fits inside the existing OFSL website. Change the path and height to match your website. Your website must allow HTML file hosting and iframe embeds; a web administrator can handle this if your page editor restricts them. Keep scripts enabled if your editor sandboxes embeds.
The private hosted preview is for your review; use the HTML file on your own host for your website’s visitors. The file contains aggregate counts, including small counts. Access follows wherever you host it. This is a snapshot: editing the Excel file does not automatically update the map. Replace the HTML file to publish refreshed data.
